Aqualuma launches Australian-made Lite-bay
Gold Coast-based Aqualuma LED Lighting has launched a new Australian-made product, Lite-bay, in response to a growing number of imported products flooding the LED commercial lighting market.
Aqualuma LED Lighting, which is a manufacturer of energy efficient commercial LED lighting, is owned by brothers Carl and Grant Amor and operates from its purpose-built facility in Helensvale. The Aqualuma range uses majority Australian sourced components and aluminium castings and is assembled using local labour from the Gold Coast.
The company’s new Lite-bay has 130W output, IP66 water ingress rating, marine grade epoxy powder-coated aluminium housing and heat sink. It was designed to provide a simple and cost-effective solution for clients requiring a straightforward luminaire with a high output where specialised optics, sophisticated controls and complex installations are not required.

“The new Lite-bay allows us to compete in a new sector where clients need a straightforward lighting solution, without the level of control and optical options that Aqualuma usually offers. There is only one 130w model, efficiency levels are at a highly competitive 127 lumens/watt and we can beat the imports on price,” says Aqualuma director Carl Amor.
“We have won many awards over the past few years that we are proud of, the latest being the Premier’s Award for Export in December. We export our existing range to UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and we expect the future demand for the new Lite-bay to be as strong.”
The Aqualuma range is available across all states at Australia’s leading manufacturers, wholesalers and big-box retail stores. The Lite-bay is competitively priced and comes with an Aqualuma warranty.
