Allied Telesis has launched its x310 Series of Fast Ethernet/Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+)/Copper stackable access switches.

Ideal for applications at the network edge, such as IP video surveillance, building management integration, office connectivity, and IP telephony, Allied Telesis has introduced the x310 Series as a high-performing and scalable access solution for today’s IP networks. With a choice of 24- and 48-port 10/100T versions with Gigabit uplinks, PoE+, and the ability to stack up to four units, the x310 Series is perfect for demanding applications at the edge of enterprise networks.

The x310 Series combines innovative Allied Telesis Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack) to simplify management and add scalability for high port-density installations with the option of PoE+ to power end-points such as VoIP phones and IP cameras. Also, exclusively from Allied Telesis, the x310 Series supports Allied Telesis Management Framework (AMF), a technology that helps IT administrators reduce their daily workload by automating many common management tasks such as replacing failed units, modifying configurations, upgrading firmware, or extending the network.  AMF provides IT administrators with a unified network management console and zero-touch device installation and recovery, which saves substantial time and money – a major advantage where large numbers of access switches are deployed.

According to Seiichiro Sato, Allied Telesis director of Global Product Marketing, “The x310 Series perfectly complements our existing range of xSeries products and provides another flexible option for network access connectivity. It’s the perfect choice for IP surveillance or high-density resilient wiring closet applications where reliability and simplified management are essential.  Allied Telesis is committed to reducing network administration costs and the x310 Series achieves that with powerful built-in features such as VCStack and AMF.”

One of the customers who has already introduced the x310 Series of switches into his organisation’s network is Didier Dejardin, chef de projet Réseau et Sécurité (DSI-DEJ), Conseil Général du 93 in France, who commented, “We were particularly pleased to see the suite of highly advanced features within the new x310 Series of Fast Ethernet access switches. The built-in Allied Telesis AMF technology is a tremendous benefit for us as it allows fast deployment of the pre-provisioning features, without requiring an onsite IT expert.”
