Allen-Bradley releases the GuardLink 2.0 protocol
Designed to reduce downtime and installation costs, Allen-Bradley’s GuardLink 2.0 aims to be the most advanced serially connected safety input solution.
The GuardLink 2.0 protocol also enables safety-rated control device status and automatic diagnostic reporting to a Human Machine Interface using CIP Safety over Ethernet/IP.

The new GuardLink 432ES on-machine interface module can connect up to 96 safety devices across three independent safety channels. The 432ES supports linear, star and device-level ring topologies while meeting the highest safety rating up to SIL3, CAT 4 PLe.
Each device feeds information about its status back to the controller, allowing for faster fault-finding and prevention of unnecessary downtime. This not only increases the diagnostic capabilities of the entire safety system, but also reduces installation costs.
GuardLink 2.0 from Allen-Bradley brings all the benefits of CIP safety into manufacturing, packaging and processing environments.
