ABB extends partnership with IPD
ABB has announced that IPD will become ABB’s preferred distributor in Australia for low-voltage power distribution products, up and including 1,000V and the AC range of EV chargers. The move will come into effect on 1 September 2021.
IPD has been servicing wholesalers, contractors, switchboard manufacturers, OEMs and utility customers in Australia for more than 60 years. ABB’s customers will benefit from IPDs large-scale distribution network that provides greater availability and accessibility to the products customers need when they need them.

“In 2019, IPD became ABB’s distributor for low voltage products to the 415V switchboard manufacturer market and in 2020 they became our channel for electrical wholesalers in Australia. This extension of the partnership with IPD to include all of ABB’s low voltage distribution products up to 1,000V, in addition to control products and AC EV chargers, is a natural evolution given the successful partnership to date,” ABB head of electrification David Sullivan says.
“Given IPDs scale of logistics and delivery operations and their far-reaching footprint, they will be able to offer broad access and availability of ABB products when and where our customers need them.”
IPD chief executive Michael Sainsbury adds that the company is proud to partner with ABB, hoping to extend its partnership with the company in the future: “This initiative will enable IPD to combine the world-class products and solutions of ABB, together with IPD’s best-in-class pre and post-sales support and inventory commitment to ensure our customers enjoy a fantastic experience when procuring equipment for their needs.”
ABB will continue to manufacture, supply and invest in the full range of low voltage solutions to deliver smart, safe and sustainable electrification that improves the reliability and efficiency of its customer’s activities across all major industries.
