Vertiv has introduced the Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS), designed to provide reliable power protection for commercial and industrial environments.

The system is engineered to support critical operations across sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, packaging and steel, where electrical instability and harsh operating conditions can impact infrastructure and production systems.

“Industrial environments can face electrical instability, high temperatures and airborne contaminants that traditional UPS systems aren’t built to withstand,” Vertiv vice president of modular power converters Greg Funk says.

“The Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is engineered specifically for Industry 4.0 applications, delivering reliable performance amid demanding environments that can result in power fluctuations and harsh conditions on factory floors, refineries and production lines.”

The UPS features an IP42 Ingress Protection rating and is designed to operate in environments with dust, humidity and ambient temperatures up to 50°. It protects critical industrial control systems, including PLCs and SCADA systems, as well as industrial networking equipment and automated production lines.

The Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is housed in a compact cabinet and supports front-only access for installation and maintenance, simplifying deployment in space-constrained environments. The system delivers up to 96% efficiency in double-conversion mode and up to 99% in ECO mode and supports valve-regulated lead-acid, nickel-cadmium and lithium-ion battery cabinets to meet a range of runtime requirements.

Additional features include a wide input voltage range of –40% to +25%, low harmonic distortion output to reduce stress on upstream infrastructure and parallel capability for capacity expansion and redundancy.

Conformal-coated PCBAs enhance resistance to dust, moisture and corrosion, while the system is certified to international standards including IEC 62040, EN 50121, EN 50171 and SEMI F47.

“Across Australia and New Zealand, industries are accelerating their adoption of automation, industrial IoT and data-driven operations, making power reliability more critical than ever,” Vertiv country head and senior director – sales ANZ LuLu Shiraz says.

“The Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is designed to help manufacturers and industrial operators maintain operational continuity in challenging environments by delivering resilient, high-efficiency power protection.”
