Vertiv has launched the Vertiv SmartRun, a modular prefabricated overhead infrastructure system that integrates power distribution busbars, liquid cooling piping, hot-aisle containment and network cabling into a single, scalable solution for data centres.

Designed for both greenfield and retrofit projects, SmartRun aims to accelerate the deployment of cloud and AI training workloads.

With prefabricated assembly and plug-and-play design, SmartRun can be installed up to 85% faster than traditional stick-built methods, enabling data centre installations exceeding 1MW per day with just a single crew. The system reduces engineering and labour requirements for busway, piping, cabling and containment, while providing adaptable configurations for diverse facility layouts.

The solution also incorporates a secondary fluid network (SFN) to support advanced liquid cooling technologies, simplifying design, fabrication and startup.

“Data centre operators are under intense pressure to scale rapidly while managing space constraints, labour availability and rising power densities driven by AI and cloud growth. Vertiv SmartRun addresses these challenges by enabling faster, more predictable deployments, supporting advanced cooling requirements and building future-ready facilities without adding operational complexity,” Vertiv Asia vice president – products and solutions Tony Gaunt says.

SmartRun is supported by Vertiv Liquid Cooling Services and Vertiv Services, offering installation, maintenance and optimisation expertise for high-density environments.
