The Measuring Division of Kaman Precision Products, Inc., is highlighting its family of differential non-contact eddy current measuring systems for free space optical communication.

Widely deployed in commercial and military satellites, interplanetary exploration vehicles, laser targeting, night vision technologies and optics stabilisation systems, the systems provide reliable high-resolution position feedback to keep reflected laser beams locked on target across vast distances.

The product line includes the KD-500+ high reliability displacement measurement system, the commercial grade DIT5200L differential impedance transducer and the KD-5600 digital differential measuring system.

The KD-5100+ is extremely small in size and has a low power consumption, making it ideal for laser communications satellites and ground stations, image stabilisation systems and directed energy systems for ground, shipboard and airborne applications. It is manufactured to Mil-PRF-38534 Class H standards with MIL-SPEC components throughout.

The KD-5600 delivers high bandwidth and linearity through the integration of custom sensors, signal processing and digital conversion, with fast data transfer enabled by a high-end communication bus.

The DIT-5200L provides subnanometer resolution and high sensitivity at a more economical price point, with robust linearity and build quality to IPC A-160 Class 3 standards.
