Peugeot expands pre-paid servicing scheme

Peugeot Australia has confirmed a continuation of pre-paid servicing scheme it launched in 2022, with a new pricing matrix that sees package pricing for some of its models – including commercial vehicles – falling.

The scheme is designed to give owners and operators greater clarity on total cost of ownership before a vehicle is even ordered, with the pre-paid servicing packages essentially front-loading all of the expected maintenance costs for the car in one all-inclusive dollar amount. Compared to the more traditional pay-as-you-go approach to vehicle maintenance, Peugeot’s scheme should bring more transparency to how much it’ll cost to keep their vehicles on the road.

The pre-paid servicing plan applies to all three of the French brand’s commercial vans, with the Partner, Expert Pro and Boxer all able to have the plans purchased as an option either when the vehicle is ordered, or at any point up until the vehicle’s first scheduled service. It’s not mandatory, but relative to Peugeot’s existing fixed-price servicing the pre-paid scheme works out considerably cheaper in most cases.

For example, purchasing the five-year pre-paid servicing plan for a Boxer will cost $2,400, but compared to what it would normally cost to maintain that model over a five-year period, that represents a saving of $992. At the other end of the size scale, the petrol-powered Partner’s maintenance demands are less extensive and thus the pre-paid plan only costs $1900 for five years of coverage – but even so, that equates to a saving of $646 versus paying for each service separately at a Peugeot dealership. The most affordable Peugeot van to service is the all-electric e-Partner EV, with a three-year pre-paid servicing cost of just $600.

The pre-paid servicing plans are available for either three years, four years, or five years duration, and are fully transferable to successive owners should the vehicle be sold within that timeframe. For full pricing and details, check the Peugeot website.
