Clean Tech Controls has delivered its mechanical services switchboards to power some of the most important equipment in large buildings along with their HVAC, hot water, exhaust fans, elevators and more.

In addition to supplying reliable power, modern switchboards now need to provide monitoring of circuits and integration into a Building Management System (BMS), according to Clean Tech Controls managing director Steve Bell.

“As building and facility managers increasingly seek to make best use of power and to boost the sustainability credentials of the building to gain higher NABERS and Green Star ratings, they are seeking more functionality from mechanical services switchboards,” says Steve.

The standards-compliant Australian-manufactured, assembled and tested switchboards provide clean energy applications as well as microgrids, EV charging stations, community batteries and mechanical services with a focus on energy efficiency and power monitoring.

To optimise power usage, Steve says the latest Australian-manufactured mechanical services switchboards come with in-built monitoring for essential power measuring. A meter in the switchboard reports data to software and shows consumption details of different circuits. This can change consumption behaviours and reduce overall power usage.

The switchboards are standards compliant, with Clean Tech Controls being a member of the National Electrical Switchboard Manufacturers Association (NESMA), which advocates for standards compliance and Australian manufacturing of switchboards.
