Panduit has released the latest advancement in its VeriSafe absence of voltage testers. Sean Carroll finds out what’s new in the 2.0 version.
In an electrical safety innovation, Panduit has released the VeriSafe absence of voltage testers (AVT) which tests for any electrical voltage with the push of a button. VeriSafe AVTs let electrical professionals determine voltage status with just the push of a button.

Meeting NFPA 70E and CSA Z462 best practices for the testing absence of voltage, the VeriSafe AVTs enable a facility to operate safer, smarter and more efficiently.
“The VeriSafe 2.0 AVT simplifies the voltage testing process,” Panduit marketing operations manager for Australia and New Zealand Aleks Stefanovic says.
“This simple push of a button gives users a new and innovative way to test for the absence of voltage safely, reliably and efficiently with exposure to electrical hazards.”
Ideal for mechanical operators, production associates, technicians, electricians and engineers alike, the AVT makes it so the user isn’t exposed to electrical hazards at all and processes in just ten seconds.
Whether on an industrial site, a commercial facility, utility or data centre, the VeriSafe will protect the user.
This recent update to the solution adds a network module that allows for enterprise-wide, real-time diagnostics and performance rating. It can also now be powered by a battery, a 24V AC/DC power supply or Power-over-Ethernet via a network module.
“Redundant isolator outputs (SIL 3) for optional integration with control systems helps to completely eliminate all exposure to electrical hazards,” Aleks explains.
“The contacts are normally open and close only when the green on the VeriSafe AVT indicator is illuminated.”
Panduit has helped outfit several data centre applications, resulting in several benefits.
Aleks says that the VeriSafe 2.0 helped the data centre managers reduce the time for testing de-energised switchboards from the standard 20 minutes to less than ten seconds. Additionally, it reduced the exposure to Electrical Hazards and allowed anyone to test for the absence of voltage including mechanical operators, technicians, electricians and engineers alike
The networking ability of the V2.0 allowed for centralised remote monitoring of the absence of voltage in remote switchboards. At the end of the installation, it reduces the time and money needed to monitor safely and maintain switchboards in a high-paced environment is a huge saving for a business.
