NECA Victoria has compiled a set of issues for consideration for the Victorian government as part of the association’s pre-budget submission. The issues are based on ongoing discussions with its members and the broader industry.

NECA has emphasised to the government the fact that electrotechnology is a critical pillar supporting the Victorian construction sector providing services to homes, offices, schools, hospitals, mining, agriculture and manufacturing: to all major sectors of the Victorian economy.

Due to COVID-19, the electrical industry has experienced job losses; supply chain issues; contractual, legal and industrial risks; lower productivity due to social distancing requirements; and uncertainty among consumers engaging in electrical works.

NECA Victoria believes its evidence-based, industry-driven recommendations will help Victoria move forward, and has urged the government to enact these in its 2022-23 budget. Details of the full submission can be found here.
