Eaton celebrates electrical apprentice achievements with Future Energy Skills
Eaton has celebrated the achievements of seven apprentices in Melbourne at a special award ceremony hosted by Future Energy Skills.
The Eaton Apprentice Excellence Award recognises apprentices who achieve 100% in both the practical and theoretical parts of their Licensed Electricians Assessment (LEA), with each recipient receiving an Eaton Electrical Contractor Kit containing Kyoritsu testing equipment.

Future Energy Skills is a Victorian electrical licensing organisation that administers and delivers the LEA on behalf of Energy Safe Victoria, which is essential for apprentices to achieve prior to applying for an A Grade Electrician’s Licence. As a partner, Eaton supports approximately 2,000 apprentices yearly at Future Energy Skills’ Clayton and Maryborough assessment centres with high quality testing equipment.
“Eaton is proud to recognise our next generation of electricians for progressing their training and education, especially given the challenging circumstances of the past twelve months,” Eaton general manager circuit protection and control Mark Anning says as he congratulated the 2020 award recipients.
“Safety is the top priority in the electrical industry, so Eaton is committed to supporting education organisations like Future Energy Skills with the latest testing equipment so apprentices can learn new skills and safe practices that hopefully stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
Future Energy Skills executive officer Alex Newman says Eaton’s support ensures electricians of the future are well prepared to carry out their essential work safely: “Eaton’s contribution helps us prepare and assess around 2,000 apprentices each year with current technology in the Kyoritsu testing equipment. The apprentices appreciate using modern equipment when carrying out their assessments, as it makes their task easier and course work more relevant.
“We are also able to reward students who display a strong work ethic and top marks through the Apprentice Excellence Award, which is a great incentive for all apprentices.”
