On Saturday, 1 April at 2pm, Nigel Hugh Peck AM passed away. NHP Holdings’ founder was surrounded by his family and loved ones and was 89 years old.

Nigel founded NHP in 1968 when he noticed the lack of specialist advice available and the high demand for superior switchgear products, especially to Australian and New Zealand markets.

As the company, with Nigel, continued to grow and expand to New Zealand, he decided to step down as Managing Director in November 2002 and move forward as Chairman of NHP Holdings. He continued in this role until his resignation in May 2013 but stayed with the company as a director.

While his business prowess stood out, it was Nigel’s community presence that really shone through as he continued to pursue and give his support to a multitude of initiatives all over the country.

In June 2004, his hard work was truly noticed when he was awarded an Order of Australia which acknowledged his outstanding hard work and devotion to the development of the electrical industry as well his leadership towards others involved in the area.

NHP Holdings will continue operating as a privately held, 100% Australian owned company and will strive to continue and build on the legacy that Nigel worked tirelessly to achieve.
