AKIPS launches free version of Network Monitor software
The best way to learn about networking is by using the latest network monitoring software. Today, students enrolled in networking training, such as CISCO’s learning partner programs, now have the ability to use a fully featured limited version of the class leading Network Monitor.
AKIPS founder Paul Koch says, “The philosophy of ‘Always Keep It Purely Simple’ – AKIPS was at the heart of offering the free version. Students will appreciate learning on the actual software they are likely to use throughout their working life.”

“Once they are employed in an enterprise and ready to move up to the full version they are already fully trained and realise that the offering is terrific value. The cost of deployment of AKIPS Network Monitor is the lowest of any competitor. The subscription price is the only cost to deploy on 99% of networks. Competing software can require infrastructure that costs in excess of $1m to deploy. So the cost equation of AKIPS paid subscription with full data history is tremendous value.”
AKIPS co-founder, Nick Frampton adds, “I hope all upcoming Cisco CCNA and CCNP certified candidates can benefit from using real world software and achieve insight into the workings of the IT network, irrespective of where they end up in the networking world.”
All CISCO training providers are invited to participate. AKIPS expects full participation by the end of 2014. To get involved, either the student or training partner can simply visit the download section of the AKIPS website to obtain the free version of AKIPS Network Monitor.
AKIPS Network Monitor phenomenally scales for data collection and analysis, has IPv4 and IPv6 integration, SNMPv3 authentication and encryption, delivers Netflow v5 / v9 / IPFIX, meets latest Syslog and Trap collection standards; runs on a single commodity server or virtual machine; utilises
revolutionary monolithic architecture to integrate polling, data storage and real-time analysis into a single process.
