Hills Limited has launched a new training program to give security companies the training and support they need to fully prepare for the transition to the National Broadband Network (NBN).

More than one million back to base monitored alarms installed in Australia will be gradually migrated to a range of new technologies as the NBN is rolled out.

The Hills NBN Ready Program will provide alarm installers and central monitoring stations with the information and resources they need to seamlessly migrate households and businesses.

Information on the technical compatibility of Hills security products with the NBN, recommended migration strategies and a comprehensive set of marketing tools to help answer end user NBN related questions are key features of the training program.

“Our program demystifies the migration to the NBN by bringing together alarm installers, alarm companies, NBN Co and Hills Limited,” Hills Limited general manager – product management, Tom Sykes says.

“Transitioning security services to the NBN requires coordination across the industry and bringing these groups together minimises the risk of operating problems for thousands of homes and businesses.

“We have extensively tested Hills security product ranges over many different NBN service providers and we are pleased with the level of compatibility we have seen.

“On top of compatibility testing, we’re delivering marketing and communications resources for businesses to help our customers answer any questions they get with confidence.

“Our NBN Ready Program will ensure the security industry has the information and resources they need for a smooth and successful transition.”

From today, product experts from both NBN Co and Hills will be running free training workshops in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and online.
