A step in the right direction to protect tradies
Steel Blue and the Australian Physiotherapy Association have created this month to focus on educating and engaging tradies on the importance of full body health and safety, with handy tips and hints tailored to the needs of a tradie.
Both organisations appreciate the importance of health and safety and felt that there was no dedicated space in the market for tradies’ wellbeing.

“Too many tradies are injured on site every day, 80% of injured workers in Australia are tradies and labourers. We have been working closely with the Australian Physiotherapy Association to encourage a behaviour change amongst tradies, to make them more aware about the importance of health and safety, at work and home,” says Steel Blue general manager Ross Fitzgerald.
“The Australian Physiotherapy Association is passionate about keeping Australian tradies pain-free, moving well and living to their full potential. Steel Blue values the work that tradies do and want to improve their awareness and support in this area,” says Australian Physiotherapy Association chief executive officer Cris Massis.
Throughout the month of August, tradie body health and safety tips will be promoted, with tradies and trade companies encouraged to register their support and become a part of the month.
On registering, tradies will be entered in to a $4,000 prize draw to win the ultimate outdoor adventure. Entrants can choose from the ultimate surfing, camping or fishing trip.
“Watch out for events happening nationally throughout the month of August for Tradies National Health Month. Encourage your work mates to register, join in, stay healthy and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up-to-date on what’s happening,” Ross adds.
