SAI Global published Amendment 2 of the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000:2007/Amdt 2:2012) on 14 December 2012, so electrical workers need to assure any work commenced prior to this date is still compliant with Amendment 2.

Any electrical work that is carried out from the publish date needs to comply with Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000:2007 incorporating amendment 2:2012).

However, if a project commenced prior to 14 December 2012, it may be performed under the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000:2007 incorporating amendment 1).

Additionally, any electrical work which is quoted or designed prior to this date may also be performed under amendment 1, however, any modifications must comply with the criteria of amendment 2.

Where possible, the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000: 2007 incorporating amendment 2:2012) should always be followed.
