4Cabling range of lockable network cables

IT cabling company 4Cabling has released a range of lockable network cables, which prevent downtime from accidental disconnects and discourage tampering in public places such as schools, hotels, shops, airports and conference centres.

The range of lockable cables finally solves a long-standing, frustration for network administrators, power users, and consumers alike.

4Cabling chief executive Nicole Kersh says the lockable cables are the latest in a long line of products that 4Cabling has brought to Australia since the company launched in 2006.

“With a long history of first-to-market releases such as our rack-mounted flexible LED light and cable management, our clients depend on us to deliver network solutions – which has been the case ever since we shook up the market as the first Australian cabling wholesaler to launch online.

“We are very excited to be the first to make this commonsense networking solution available to Australians at an affordable price.”

The Cat 6 patch cables come in four lengths, 50cm, 100cm, 200cm and 500cm.

“I know from personal experience how frustrating it can be when networks are accidentally or deliberately unplugged – especially in the case of larger, more complex setups,” Nicole says.

“If you have to retrace your network every time someone ‘borrows’ a cable and doesn’t put it back, the downtime can lead to productivity losses, missed deadlines and further frustrations.

“Our new cables are sure to be hit with network administrators responsible for public spaces, but will be just as useful around the home to prevent unwanted disconnections.

“Cables that remain locked in place until the operator take them out personally is a long overdue innovation that I’m sure will be welcomed by our customers.”
