Last Friday it was NECA NSW’s time to recognise the best electrical and communication contractors in the state at the Excellence Awards held at the Star Event Centre in front of 670 attendees.

The awards were presented in ten categories, covering projects valued from under $1 million to greater than $8 million.

“This has been an exceptional year for NSW in terms of the variety of projects and the challenges our contractors have faced across commercial, communications, energy efficiency, industrial and domestic projects,” says NECA NSW executive director Oliver Judd.

“It was difficult for the judges to shortlist the finalists as they evaluated all the excellent projects.

“NECA members to continue to play a critical role in some of the largest and most diverse construction jobs in the state and have once again showcased their excellence and ability.  These awards provide an opportunity to demonstrate contractors successes to their peers in the electrical and communications industry as well as to the general community.”

The winning companies and their projects are listed below:

The winning projects will be strong contenders for the national awards to be held at the Hyatt in Canberra on 17 November.

Apprentice Awards

A career in the electrotechnology industry proved the right choice for nine of the state’s brightest apprentices who were recognised on the night.

Oliver Judd says to be named ‘Apprentice of the Year’ is a tremendous honour and something Mason, David and Thomas should be very proud of.

The results were as follows:
