Schneider Electric releases an ultra-compact starter for electrical motors
Schneider Electric has introduced TeSysTM H, a 22.5 mm-wide multi-functional, ultra-compact starter for electrical motors.
TeSys H saves a significant amount of space in control cabinets and can be used in a variety of industries, including food and beverage, logistics, and durable goods.

It’s an ideal starter solution for machines in material handling and packaging systems.
For optimal efficiency, TeSys H can provide up to four functions within its compact body including forward and reverse running. The system can also provide protection against overload including phase unbalance, phase loss, stall and jam. It also has a safe shut-down function up to SIL3 according to IEC61508-1 (available in the Safe Torque Off variant).
With these functions embedded, the TeSys H motor starter allows users to improve efficiency during installation and diagnostics. Compatible with other Schneider Electric products, this compact solution ensures that up to 75% of space reduction, making it suitable for all control cabinets where saving space is a priority.
The motor starters boast a 60% reduction of installation time, thanks to the efficiency of having embedded functions in one compact body and have long electrical life with up to 30 million AC53a electrical cycles.
TeSys H motor starters are available in two models dedicated to different applications.
Bearing a green label, the standard TeSys H is meant for standard applications. It can provide the three functions of forward running, reverse running and protection against overload.
The standard type is equipped with fault auxiliary contact, three reset options (manual, remote, and automatic), as well as wide setting range (0.18 to 2.4 A and 1.5 to 6.5 A), control voltage (24 VDC or 110230 VAC) and four LEDs for easy diagnostics. Installation and maintenance are simple thanks to a direct mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail. This model is CE and UL certified.
The red-labelled TeSys H, the Safe Torque Off model for safety-chain applications, can embed all three standard functions, plus an additional ‘safe shut-down function’. This model meets the requirements of functional safety and is rated SIL3 according to IEC 61508-1. Moreover, it is ATEX-certified, in addition to possessing standard CE and UL certificates.
