Nominations have opened for the Australian communications industry’s premier awards, the ACOMMS, with 12 categories celebrating performance excellence in customer service, marketing, innovation and product solutions across the breadth of the telecommunications sector.

The ACOMM Awards are jointly presented by Communications Alliance and Communications Day and recognise industry-leading achievements among communications sector players including individuals, service providers, content providers, carriers, technology partners, consultants and third party suppliers. Sponsors of the 2014 ACOMMS include Telstra, Optus, iiNet, Vodafone, VASP, DGIT and KPMG.

This fabulous night will recognise those who excel in our industry. The award categories have been updated this year to ensure that more industry segments will be rewarded. Not only will the spotlight be on those leading the way in customer service, community initiatives, satellite services, partnerships and innovation – the new categories include awards for innovative vendors, marketing initiatives and mobile solutions.

The Communications Ambassador Award continues to recognise an outstanding individual who has promoted the industry’s interests during the preceding year.

Communications Alliance chief executive John Stanton says, “The ACOMMS have a justified reputation as the ultimate in industry recognition for excellence.

“I encourage companies small and large to submit their work in relevant categories. Once again we expect the awards to produce strong competition and look forward to honouring the organisations that have showcased the highest standards and industry best practice over the past year.”

“Australia’s telecommunications industry continues to set high standards, notably the world’s best penetration for mobile broadband. The ACOMMS recognises excellence in an industry that should justifiably be proud of its achievements,” says CommsDay publisher Grahame Lynch.
